Statistics: Russia’s inflation back to zero in October 24–Monday
MOSCOW, Nov 1 (PRIME) – The Russian consumer price inflation index returned to zero from October 24 through Monday after rising to 0.1% in the previous week, and stayed at 1.9% since January 1, the Federal State Statistics Service said in a report on Wednesday.
In the reported week, prices for eggs grew 0.7% and for canned meat rose 0.2%. But prices for sugar fell 1.6%, and for flour, sunflower oil, buckwheat, rice, millet, tea, poultry, pork, lamb meat, and sausages contracted 0.1–0.9%.
Prices for fruit and vegetables increased 2.1% on average. Tomato and cucumber prices rose 15.2% and 12.7%, respectively, while prices for cabbage, onions, carrots and apples dropped 0.8–1.5%.
Gasoline prices remained flat and diesel fuel prices rose 0.3%.
